PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Monday that the government was acting against the principles of democracy by blocking roads leading to the capital.
Anticipating a group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Islamabad, police have been deployed on Peshawar Motorway and Grand Trunk Road.
Khattak warned the federal government that if any harm comes to PTI workers, he would file a case in court. The CM also said that Pakistani’s are given a chance to fight for their rights.
The provincial chief minister questioned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government by saying, “Why is the government creating hurdles for us?”
He warned that the government will see a strong reacting if anyone tried to stop PTI from expressing it’s right for a peaceful protest.
Khattak addressed a large crowd of PTI supporters saying that the ‘tsunami’ of PTI workers cannot be stopped from marching on the federal capital from KP.
He also threatened the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that if his ‘tsunami’ was not allowed to enter Punjab for the protest, he will ban the PM from entering KP to address public meetings.
