PALANDRI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Monday that Jews did no need to plant their agents in Pakistan in the presence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.
Speaking at an election rally, Khan said, “Fazl-ur-Rehman says Imran Khan is an agent of Jews… I have to say why Jews would need an agent in his presence.”
Khan asked the Kashmiris to vote for the PTI, which could change the fate of Azad Kashmir. He asked people not to vote for the tried and tested parties. Stressing the need for devolution of power, he said that his party would empower all local government representatives irrespective of their political affiliation.
“I’ve talked to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and asked him to address the issues that are creating hurdles in the way of our local government representatives. I’ve seen many world democratic systems and I found the Swiss to be the best. The key is an empowered local government system,” the PTI chairman said.
Khan said the people of Pakistan were paying 50 percent tax on petrol and 100 percent tax on diesel. He said the government led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also increased the power tariff.
Khan praised the spirit of the Kashmiri people and saluted them, adding that the people of the region bravely fought the war for freedom. “Those who fight for independence never die,” he said. Khan also asked the elderly people to join the PTI. Khan said that those who embraced slavery had no future. He said the fight for justice would continue. He gave examples of great men in history who stood for a cause and made their mark. He said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah did not make a compromise; he fought for freedom till the very end.
Khan said that corruption had badly affected Pakistan, adding that money was taken out of the country through illegal means and people were burden by taxes. He said that a number of institutions were affected by corruption.
Khan said the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and those of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) had sold their conscience. “Those who destroyed the institutions cannot improve them,” he stated.
