LAHORE: Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee under Mufti Muneebur Rehman’s supervision on Tuesday will hold a meeting in Lahore to sight the Shawwal moon, reported on Monday.
Sources told that the Middle East states including Saudi Arabia will conduct a session to sight the moon today whereas the experts said that possibilities of moon sighting in Pakistan are less today but high on Tuesday.
Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Islamabad would also meet for the same purpose. Weather specialists said that the moon would also likely to be witnessed in Punjab areas including Lahore which is an indication that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan would celebrate Eidul Fitr on the same day. Eidul Fitr marks the end of Ramzan. According to astronomers, Eid will likely be on Wednesday, July 6.
